Wendy Morton MP, Minister for Europe and the Americas at the Foreign Commonwealth & Development Office met with Maria João Rodrigues de Araujo, President of Portugal-UK 650. In this meeting, details of the program of the commemorations of the 650th anniversary of the Anglo-Portuguese Alliance were discussed and  the Minister had the opportunity to deepen her knowledge about the beginnings of the Alliance. Wendy Morton had the opportunity to see a copy of the Treaty of Windsor, and received from Maria João Rodrigues de Araujo a miniature copy of the Monument that is in Tagilde, in the municipality of Vizela, district of Braga. This beautiful stone Monument marks the location where the Treaty of Tagilde, the  first treaty between England and Portugal, was signed in 1372.
