“Dance in Perpetuity” celebrates the 650th anniversary of the Anglo-Portuguese Alliance in Braga
The Praça Municipal de Braga will become a huge dance stage this Saturday, July 9, at 5:30 pm, with the show Dance in Perpetuity, one of several cultural projects specially created to celebrate the 650th anniversary of the Anglo-Portuguese Alliance. Young people from six dance schools in Braga have been working hard on rehearsals with an international creative team brought together by the English National Ballet. The initiative will culminate in a commemorative presentation, in which the entire community is encouraged to participate.
2022 marks the 650th anniversary of the Anglo-Portuguese Alliance, the oldest existing diplomatic alliance in the world, and the Municipality of Braga is one of the entities involved in the organization of a wide range of initiatives that will take place between Portugal and Portugal. the United Kingdom.
“Dance in Perpetuity” culminates with a performance in Braga on the 9th of July and in 2023 with a performance in London in June. The celebration is for everyone to learn something new, come together and have fun, and is inspired by the theme of the Covenant of Perpetual Peace and Friendship.
Dancers from the six schools will come together to present the complete work of Dance in Perpetuity at Praça do Município. The entire community is invited to join the show and for that, videos with some dance steps are being released, in order to involve as many participants as possible at the end, whatever their age, dance experience and skill. .

The main objective is to encourage intercultural dialogue, develop participants’ skills, confidence, creativity and cooperation, in addition to promoting friendship and a spirit of mutual help. The initiative is the result of a collaboration between the English National Ballet and Portugal-UK 650, with the support of the Municipality of Braga.
