World Premiere: Performance within the project “Dance in Perpetuity” in partnership with the English National Ballet with support of Braga City Council taking place in Portugal and the United Kingdom.

This performance is a new choreographic and musical work that celebrates the founding values of the Alliance “There shall henceforth be between us a true, faithful, constant, mutual and perpetual peace and friendship, union and alliance and bonds of sincere affection” (Article I, Treaty of Alliance, London 16 June 1373). Each of the eight choreographic sections is dedicated to one of the values of the treaty: peace, friendship, truth, fidelity, constancy, sincerity, affection and kindness. The choreography is the result of joint creative work by the artistic team of English National Ballet and the six dance schools who will perform the choreography.

One section of the choreography the “Celebration Theme” is open to the community.  Anyone wishing to dance this section of the choreography at the performance on 9 July should:

  3. Attend the rehearsal with the artistic team of English National Ballet which will take place on 7 July 2022 from 6pm-8pm.

This project will continue in 2023 with an international dance exchange, a twinning programme between dance schools in Portugal and the UK, and a joint performance by young Portuguese and English dancers, including the English National Ballet Youth Company, in London in June 2023.
